2011 saw the increasing internationalisation of the University’s business engagement activities.

A special cohort of students made history in July 2011 when they became the first graduates of Britain’s newest vet school.

Nottingham’s relationship with India grew and developed during 2011, with new initiatives adding to well-established links in research, teaching, scholarships and enterprise.

The University has a long tradition of raising aspiration and supporting achievement by working with young people, teachers, schools and colleges across Nottingham, the East Midlands and beyond.

The unveiling of a series of new buildings across our campuses this year was part of a £90m investment in infrastructure, ensuring that our students and staff have the very best environment in which to work and study.

Philanthropy played a fundamental role in establishing the University of Nottingham. Sir Jesse Boot’s generosity in providing land and buildings to fund the University was a turning point for the institution.

A pioneering new centre will train the researchers of the future and help to deepen scientific links between the UK and China.
